Multifunctional Nanoassemblies for Cytotoxic Drug and Therapeutic Enzymes Delivery in Neuroblastoma Therapy

Neuroblastoma cells can acquire resistance mechanisms that make them invulnerable to chemotherapeutic agents. The use of nanoparticles as drug carriers provides the possibility deliver several drugs simultaneously specific tumoral cell populations, improving their therapeutic outcome. Herein, development a multifunctional nanoplatform based on assembly protocells (PC) and polymeric nanocapsules (PNC) is reported. PC ability transport release cytotoxic while PNC offers capacity enzymes tissues preserving catalytic activity. Doxorubicin (Dox) Glucose Oxidase (Gox) are housed within PNC, respectively. external surface these nanoassemblies decorated with synthetic targeting moieties, providing selectivity neuroblastoma cells. Thus, endowed generate multiple insults release, glucose starvation, oxidative damage. This exhibits significantly higher activity in comparison only drug-loaded or empty oxidase nanocapsules, which points out existence potent synergic effect between action both agents: Dox Gox. strategy be adapted production nanoassemblies, arsenal against different types tumors.
